Will PlayStation Release Its Own Game Pass After Calling It 'Unsustainable'? Trending News in India

Sony’s PlayStation 5 has finally hit the stores globally and has been making staggering sales ever since. In an exclusive interview with Russian news agency TASS, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s CEO Jim Ryan hinted at PlayStation releasing its own Game Pass.

When asked about Sony’s response to Microsoft’s Game Pass, Jim replied, “There is actually news to come, but just not today. We have PlayStation Now which is our subscription service, and that is available in a number of markets.”

PlayStation Now is Sony’s cloud gaming subscription service that gives instant access to hundreds of games. With the help of a PS Now subscription, players can instantly stream PS4, PS3, and PS2 games on their PS4 and PC.

As per the latest interview with TASS, fans can definitely look forward to Sony introducing something similar to Xbox’s Game Pass. To say the least, it will be a significant addition to the PlayStation Now service.

Inside Gaming talked about the possibility of Sony taking such an action in a recent video:

PlayStation has been historically critical of the Xbox Game Pass

Interestingly, Sony’s CEO fell short of words while talking about the upcoming news on a Game Pass. According to the fans, it might be a huge announcement and Jim didn’t want to spoil it in any manner.

Having said that, Sony has not been a supporter of Xbox’s subscription service because it includes the latest releases, and even AAA titles. Accordingly, Jim Ryan himself has criticized the model and termed it as unsustainable.

“We have had this conversation before — we are not going to go down the road of putting new releases titles into a subscription model. These games cost many millions of dollars, well over $100 million, to develop. We just don’t see that as sustainable,” said the CEO in an interview with GameIndustry.biz.

In hindsight, one can deduce that the Xbox Game Pass is not a very profitable business model. It emphasizes more on the expansion of the community, rather than revenue. However, if Sony is teasing a similar service, it must strike the perfect balance between community growth and profit-making.

Sasha Palatnikov Calls Joe Rogan 'A Hero' After UFC Victory Trending News in India

Sasha Palatnikov vs Louis Cosce was the first fight on the early prelim card at UFC 255. The bout took place at 170 pounds. Both men are currently unranked in the division, and the fight was a splendid opportunity for them to put themselves on course to secure a rank sooner rather than later.

This was ‘The Monster’s’ second fight in the promotion as he welcomed a newcomer in Sasha Palatnikov. Cosce was undefeated going into the fight and had a stunning 71% finishing rate. Palatnikov was fighting with the UAE warriors’ promotion before the UFC signed him.

After securing a TKO victory on his UFC debut, Palatnikov was seen yelling at Joe Rogan. In the post-fight press conference when asked about what he was saying, he replied, “He’s my hero. I mean, I’ve been watching Joe since Fear Factor since I was a teenager. So just the opportunity to see him watching one of my fights, commentating on one of my fights and then being able to get interviewed by him was pretty surreal.”

Palatnikov continued, “Let alone ‘DC’. I love ‘DC’. He is one of my favorite fighters, John Anik, and just this whole environment. Seeing all you guys in front of me is a blessing. Cause I’m usually the one on the computer watching you guys interview other fighters…. I’ve been working on this for a very long time, ups and downs. You just gotta keep working, keep following your dreams, and it’s all gonna come together eventually.”

Palatnikov revealed that he took the fight on two weeks’ notice. Furthermore, to top it off, he took the fight right after he healed from COVID-19.

He overcame adversity early on to secure a third-round stoppage over a dangerous opponent. Palatnikov could not have asked for a better start to his UFC career. It will be interesting to see what he looks like with a full training camp behind him.

New York Knicks’ Latest Signing Austin Rivers Pens an Emotional Message for Houston Rockets

New York Knicks’ Latest Signing Austin Rivers Pens an Emotional Message for Houston Rockets Trending News in India

The New York Knicks’ off-season has been underwhelming, to say the least. They had a cap space of $109.14 million, and that is significantly higher than most teams in the NBA.

Even with such a big salary cap, they still couldn’t make any star signings. But the Knicks have been busy this off-season and have already brought in center Nerlens Noel and re-signed Elfrid Payton.

Recently, reports emerged that the Knicks had signed Rockets backup point guard Austin Rivers in a three-year deal worth $10 million. Rivers seemed excited to join the Knicks and tweeted, “Beyond excited for this. Knicks! NYC! Grateful!”

The 28-year-old also thanked the Houston Rockets and tweeted, “Appreciated my time in Houston. Truly amazing experience. Loved the city and the people. Thank you for having my and family.”

Rivers came off the bench in the Rockets and averaged 8.8 points in 23.4 minutes per game last season. The No. 10 overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft will now be joining the fifth team in the NBA.

Over the years Rivers has turned himself into a capable ball-handler and a good pick-and-roll player. In the Knicks he will be a backup to the recently re-signed Elfrid Payton.

What can one expect from the New York Knicks?

The Knicks haven’t made any big money moves till now. They are currently in no place to lure a star to their team any time soon. They may have enough cap space, but it won’t be enough to bring in a star.

The New York based side could have gone for a proper rebuild and brought in some quality veterans to the side. However, they have made many underwhelming moves till now.

The Knicks have signed center Nerlens Noel, who is a decent player. Apart from that they have added small forward Alec Burks who had a great 2019-20 season and can add some attacking threat to the side.

To fill the roster they have brought in Omari Spellman, Jacob Evans, and a future second-round pick from the Timberwolves in exchange of Ed Davis.

The Knicks are not looking like a side that will come anywhere near the playoffs. There are certain additions like Burks who are good, and the team might improve on last season’s record.

The younger players in the Knicks need to step up. Until and unless one of their draft picks turns into a great player, fans won’t be seeing a star like Giannis Antetokounmpo in the New York Knicks.

“The Only Profitable Org”- TSM President Compares TSM to 100 Thieves

"The Only Profitable Org"- TSM President Compares TSM to 100 Thieves Trending News in India

There has always been tremendous competition among eSports organizations, not just in terms of leading in popular games, but also in terms of being a successful business. Currently, Cloud 9, Team Liquid, TSM, and 100 Thieves are in the upper echelons of the eSports world.

Recently, the president of TSM, Leena Xu, gave a fierce comeback to a person who compared her organization to that of 100 Thieves on Instagram.

“In 2 years look what 100 Thieves has done meanwhile TSM has fallen behind everyone under your leadership but keep modeling.”

Now, a comment like this would infuriate anyone. Moreover, Leena has done her bit for the organization, and it is one of the very best in the scene right now. Her organization has been one of the leading names in almost every major eSport title out there. She retaliated with a confident comeback to the comment saying, “TSM is the only profitable org.” However, she also made it a point to state that although she is comparing the success of 100T and TSM, NadeShot (100 Thieves co-owner) is her friend.

TSM President Leena Xu fiercely defends her organization in a comment box to-and-fro on Instagram

It is perhaps because of this that she has had to remove her comment. In her comments, she fiercely defended her organization while boasting of her team’s exploits over that of 100 Thieves.

In one of her comments, she said:

“Look at their (100 Thieves) then look at ours, look at their FN division the look at ours, look at their Apex/R6/Smash/influencer division then look at ours. Nade is my friend and yeah they have sick merch but just compare everything. Also our facility is opening later this year and you can compare that too.

The facility in question is the latest $50M facility built for her organization. She dropped a video of it soon after 100 Thieves had unveiled theirs which cost around $35M.

There is minimal doubt about Leena’s leadership in her organization. She has done her part in enriching most of the rosters. However, straight up claiming her organization to be “the only profitable org” probably went a bit too far.
